CLOT x Timberland collection | HYPEBEAST
For its latest collaboration, CLOT has teamed up with Timberland for the first time ever on a collection that reflects the iconic elements of both brands. The East vs West collision includes footwear and a line of workwear-inspired apparel branded with dragon imagery. Standing tall as a legendary folk creature in China, the symbol of Eastern culture takes on classic Timberland styles and silhouettes for the collaboration.
Leading the CLOT x Timberland collection is the Handsewn 3-Eye Lug Boat Shoe from Timberland. Available in ‘Black’ and ‘Wheat’ colorways, the shoe has been reimagined with a raised toe, reminiscent of the head of a growling dragon. Crafted with eco-innovative materials, the uppers are crafted with Better Leather sourced from a tannery rated silver for its environmental practices and marked with Chinese folk silk embroidery expressing the shape and flames of the dragon. Additional details come in the form of bright red interior linings and multi-colored rope laces. Elevating the slip-on style are 34% recycled rubber outsoles with a rear heel and aggressive tread.
The CLOT x Timberland 3-Eye Lug Handsewn Boat Shoe also comes with a range of matching apparel. Coming in the form of workwear styles with oriental-inspired details, the special range uses natural and recycled materials, including 100% organically grown cotton and 100% recycled cotton, while the thick duck canvas provides sturdy protection.
“Dragon designs have always appeared in our designs. It’s mystical, it demands power, and it’s very representative of Chinese culture,” says Edison Chen, Founder and Creative Director of CLOT. “The embroidery is really an ode to the hand-stitch culture at the time, and abstractly also to the tattoo culture, because it seems to have translated into Chinese tattoos where the dragons and all those ancient patterns appear on people’s tattoo works.”

Retailing for $180, both the “Black” and “Wheat” versions of the Handsewn 3-Eye Lug Boat Shoe will be available alongside the CLOT x Timberland collection via JUICE on July 20.
