Emily Ratajkowski wears black dress and boots in summer
Almost every year, like clockwork, as soon as the weather begins to warm up, a familiar feeling ensues: that of looking through your closet in confusion realizing you have nothing – and I mean, nothing! – carry.
This year, my stress was mainly shoe related. Looking through the rows of boots, sneakers and loafers, I couldn’t find any pair of sandals – or summer shoes – that I liked.
But luckily, just because it’s hot doesn’t necessarily mean your toes have to stick out, a statement that’s truer this season than most with the rise of the cowboy boot trend and cute Mary loafers. Janes with socks (an Emma Chamberlain favorite you can buy here).
In fact, as Emily Ratajkowski proved in Milan, even leather thigh-high boots, a winter must-have for fashion girls, have their place in the sun.
In the Italian city for the Spring/Summer 2023 menswear shows, the model attended the JW Anderson runway presentation wearing a black one-shoulder midi dress by the British designer (also proving that summer looks don’t have to not necessarily be bright, colorful, or short), alongside a pair of tan leather knee-high boots, also a JW Anderson design.
Ratajkowski added a splash of color in the form of her Bumper bag – a new style from the brand – in beige and lilac and kept her brunette hair loose.
Black and boots for the summer? We like to see it.
