Kate designer Jenny Packham urges the nation to ditch loungewear

Kate designer raps about poorly dressed Britain: Jenny Packham urges nation to ditch loungewear as she says pandemic ‘hasn’t helped fashion’
She is the Duchess of Cambridge’s trusted designer, renowned for her dazzling evening gowns.
It’s no surprise, then, that Jenny Packham urged the nation to ditch loungewear, saying many of us dress “badly”.
The British fashion designer, 57, who is not a fan of Ugg boots or flip flops, said the pandemic has made us lazy when it comes to what to wear.

Speaking at the Hay Festival, she added: “I think as a nation we’re dressing pretty badly at the moment.” I hate people who tuck their sweaters into their leggings.
“I don’t think the pandemic has helped fashion. We all got into this loungewear and it really is time to get out of it now. I see a lot of people walking along the road in the morning and it’s like “Why did you think that top went with those pants?”.
The designer, who was interviewed by her brother, presenter Chris Packham, said money is no excuse for sloppy dressing. “I watch people all the time and understand very well what people can afford, but there are some amazing charity shops out there,” she said.
“Everybody can look smart. It’s laziness and it’s a shame. My dad…I was passing by, he didn’t even know we were coming and he was wearing a tie.
“I don’t really understand that I don’t care. Maybe it just reflects an inner feeling that worries me.
Miss Packham is a favorite of the Duchess who looked stunning in a gold dress at the premiere of No Time to Die in 2021. She also wore custom designs to every photocall following the birth of her three children.
Comedian Rebel Wilson was recently photographed in a dress embellished by Miss Packham, while cyclist Dame Laura Kenny wore a yellow chiffon tiered dress and bespoke headpiece to capture her femininity.
