Malia Obama runs an errand at a 7-Eleven in Los Angeles with a friend while staying cozy in Ugg boots
Malia Obama was spotted pit-stopping at a 7-Eleven in West Hollywood with a friend on Friday as she strolled ahead of the weekend.
The Los Angeles-based screenwriter, who is the eldest daughter of former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, was dressed in an oversized denim jacket which she wore over a baggy gray t-shirt and shorts.
Malia, 24, completed her casual California look with a pair of beige Ugg boots. Her long, rust-colored tresses were pulled halfway into a messy bun with a few tendrils framing her face.

The screenwriter, who is the eldest daughter of former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, was dressed in an oversized denim jacket which she wore over a baggy gray t-shirt and shorts.

She had her keys and wallet ready to make a purchase. Her friend was also dressed for the cool weather in a sweatshirt and baggy jeans. He added another layer of warmth with a beige vest.
Malia didn’t seem to buy anything at the convenience store, but her boyfriend grabbed a pack of ZYN nicotine pouches. She was seen doing a small jump in the air as she walked beside him.
Their exact whereabouts are unclear, but the former first daughter lived in Brentwood, an affluent neighborhood on the city’s Westside.
Malia’s visit comes just days after a giant mob ransacked a 7-Eleven near Figueroa Street and El Segundo Boulevard following a street takeover at the intersection.
Surveillance footage from August 15 showed the group of people looting and vandalizing the store. The crowd could be seen running through the store and grabbing drinks, cigarettes, lottery tickets, bags of chips and other items.

It’s unclear where exactly they were, but Malia lives in Brentwood, an affluent neighborhood on the city’s Westside.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspects also began throwing objects at them, with around 100 people involved in the mayhem.
Malia’s latest outing comes weeks after DailyMail.com exclusively revealed the identity of her new boyfriend, music producer Dawit Eklund.
Dawit – who is also called David, the anglicized version of his name – is the son of retired State Department officer Jon Eklund, 72, who worked at several US embassies in Africa, and his wife. Ethiopian woman, Yeshi, 66 years old.
He is co-founder of the 1432 R label based in Washington, DC, specializing in Ethiopian music. Unsurprisingly, he may also be a registered Democrat.
A Washington Post article on the label in 2016 stated, “Their music seamlessly brings together the grooves of house music, the stutter of UK garage, an uneasy electronic vibe and, perhaps most notably, the Ethiopian folk music.”

Malia is currently working as a writer on Donald Glover’s upcoming Amazon show, which is said to be about “a Beyoncé-type character.”

Her father, Jon, was heavily involved in the refugee crisis caused by the war in Sudan in the early 2000s, when hundreds of thousands of people fled to Ethiopia to escape the fighting.
Dawit’s mother, Yeshi, comes from a business family in Ethiopia. Her sister Sara Eklund was featured in a 2019 Vogue article for introducing menstrual cups to Ethiopia
Since retiring, John and Yeshi have settled in Abidjan, the capital of the West African nation of Ivory Coast, although they also have a home in Chantilly, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C.

Malia and Dawit were spotted visiting the Los Angeles County Museum of Art together on August 4, the third time they have been seen together in nine days.
They were first photographed having a packed lunch on July 26, and then again when they went for a walk together on August 2.
DailyMail.com was also the first to reveal the identity of Malia’s first serious beau, Rory Farquharson, who she dated in college.
Malia moved to Los Angeles last year after graduating from Harvard University to pursue a career as a screenwriter. She is currently working as a screenwriter on Donald Glover’s upcoming Amazon show.
In March, Donald revealed he had given the 24-year-old her first writing job on her new series, which would be about “a Beyoncé-type character”, with the actor calling her “incredibly talented” and ‘really focused.’
“She’s just such an incredibly talented person,” Donald, 38, also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, told Vanity Fair at the time. “She’s really focused and she works really hard.”
