NBA players showcase their artistic skills by recreating iconic paintings

The 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend provided many standout moments. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry shone on the court. NBA legends took center stage to commemorate the league’s 75th anniversary team.
However, there was also fun to be had off the pitch. Several NBA players have tested their artistic talents by recreate iconic paintings over the weekend. The players were all smiles as they put their touches on the art canvas.
NBA stars Anthony Edwards, Jarrett Allen and Tyrese Haliburton were among many to pull out the brushes. They were inspired by the NBA Paints art group which creates paintings based on athletes across the league.
Allen tried his hand at recreating the “Ferret Allen” painting. The original piece features a ferret that wears Allen’s No. 31 jersey. Allen said he was looking forward to the special activity.
“That’s the one thing I was looking forward to,” Allen said in a video shared by the NBA on TNT social media account. “I stayed just to do that.”
Some of the other interesting artwork included Haliburton painting a caricature of himself as Reese’s Peanut Buttercup. Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony had a cartoon named “Antoine taupe” play his name. His magical teammate Jalen Suggs had a painting of himself wearing UGG boots.
The players had fun with the activity. It was another way for them to interact and celebrate their accomplishments during All-Star Weekend.
“Fire. It was fun,” Detroit Pistons forward Saddiq Bey said after finishing his painting.
The NBA kicked off the second half of the regular season on Thursday. After a successful All-Star weekend, the teams turned their attention to the playoff push.
