Supreme’s Latest Collaboration With Timberland Has Everything But Shoes
Supreme and Timberland are now family-owned companies after the former was acquired by VF Corporation last fall for $ 2.1 billion. But even before the two brands were under one umbrella, they had a long history of working together and making some of the most popping boots you’ve ever seen.
For their latest collaboration, strangely, Supreme and Timberland are completely leaving shoes aside. A new capsule released this week is fully dressed, no boots. And while we’re well aware that Timberland does more than just make boots, it’s always wrong to leave out what the brand does best.
Among the lot is a pair of jeans that reinforce the current wave of denim, which is getting loose after years of skinny reign. Double-knee-cut painters with massive pockets and double-branded embroidery on the back pocket should be familiar to anyone in the 2000s to see the absurdly large proportions of jeans. Part hip-hop, part skate, jeans are a serious blast from the past.
What else is in store? – The matching anoraks and sweatpants, both with reflective stripes, are available in orange, purple, black and white with contrasting stitching. Indigo denim is actually just one choice among painter’s pants, which will also be available in pink, black, and white. But perhaps best of all are the crew-neck sweatshirts, available in their own color range with a striped border highlighted by a burnt orange that University of Texas fans will go crazy for.
The accessory front offers two types of hats, six panel camp caps with a mesh pocket and matching beanies with crew necks. The set isn’t likely to generate much hype, but shows what Supreme and Timberland ultimately do best – high quality products that are worth every dollar for the years they will last.
Abandonment this week – As always, the Supreme and Timberland collaboration will be released as part of the streetwear brand’s weekly outing at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 13. Chances are the clothes will remain available for purchase for more than 15 seconds, which is more than we can. say about the Supreme mini fridge which is also dropping this week.
