Ugg launches shoe renovation program
California lifestyle brand Ugg has started a shoe makeover program, Uggrenew.
Created in partnership with the shoe repair company NuShoe, Uggrenew will offer three levels of repair service to owners of the brand’s Classic Boots style.
‘Renew’ will see a complete, artisanal restoration, with new bindings and outsoles. In addition, the “Restore” service also provides new outsoles, while the cheapest package, “Refresh”, focuses only on washing. Each option involves steam cleaning the shoes inside and out, with the mark indicating that the process will remove stains, remove odors, and condition the leather.
The program is “dedicated to extending the life of its customers’ favorite boots”, using genuine Ugg materials in the process.
Currently, NuShoe’s capacity is limited to 100 pairs per day, but the label said it intends to expand the program to allow the maintenance of nearly a quarter of a million pairs per year. by 2023.
Uggrenew is exclusively available to customers based in the United States, where the Ugg website now has a scheduling tool to make appointments and pay the corresponding fees. Individuals will be advised to ship their classic boots via a shipping service provided by the retailer.
